How Long Should Antiepileptic Medication Be Taken After Cholesteatoma Surgery?

A patient visited the hospital due to an epilepsy seizure and was diagnosed with cholesteatoma on the right temporal lobe of the brain. The recovery after surgery was good, except for one seizure in September 2017, and no further seizures have occurred since then. The patient asks the doctor, how long should this antiepileptic medication be continued?
