Question

How to treat pediatric enuresis?

Answer

Bedwetting, also known as enuresis, is the condition where a child cannot control urination after falling asleep and thus unintentionally wets the bed. Habitual bedwetting can weaken a child, disturb physical health and intellectual growth, and also bring trouble to the family. If it is caused by illness, treat the illness first. Reduce salt and water intake in the evening meal, and avoid drinking soup. Before taking a nap, prevent the child from being overly excited, and encourage the habit of emptying the bladder before getting into bed. Training the child to hold urine during the day can also be a method; when urination is felt again, actively control and delay urination for a few minutes, gradually extending the time.
