Question
What are the effects of vaccination before neonatal jaundice resolves?
Answer
Vaccination during neonatal jaundice, including hepatitis B vaccine, is not contraindicated. However, if the jaundice is due to breastfeeding, known as breastfeeding jaundice, it is a physiological phenomenon that usually appears around one month after birth and often resolves spontaneously. Since this is not a pathological condition and is not a contraindication for hepatitis B vaccination, the vaccine can be administered normally. For children diagnosed with endocrine disorders, parents should cooperate with doctors for timely treatment, including gastrointestinal decompression and maintaining good hygiene habits. Children’s diet should be reasonable, and they should avoid consuming irritating and cold foods.
